This curious calf came to check me out in the calm waters off Vava'u, Tonga, calving grounds for the South Pacific humpback whales. Mom rests quietly below.
I've taken many pictures underwater with a long stick but I've never had the opportunity to swim with them or to take such a breathing picture! So special and deserving of this honor!
